The History Of Bennett’s in McComb:

Bennett’s was born in 1953, although at the time it wasn’t called Bennett’s, and it didn’t take up 16 buildings in the downtown area of McComb, Ohio.

To talk about Bennett’s is to talk about family. No, not just the family ties which started the business, but also the family atmosphere which still exists today. 

Daisy Bennett was the owner of the store after 1984. Before that it was the Diller Furniture store, owner by Frank Diller, which opened in 1906. It closed during World War II, but then re-opened after the war with a new team to help run it, which included Diller’s brother-in-law, Ned Bennett. In 1953, Diller sold his part of the store to Ned’s brother Dan Bennett, and it remains Bennett’s Furniture to this day, even though the Bennett brothers are long since gone (Ned in 1978, and Dan in 1984). Daisy took over the store after Dan died, and brought Chuck Wasson aboard as corporate manager. In 1996, Chuck purchased the business after the unexpected passing of Daisy. Chuck Wasson has carried on the family business, not only in name, but in spirit, maintaining its reputation of conducting business with integrity, fairness, and in accordance with the highest ethical standards. At Bennett’s, the customer still comes first.

Bennett’s Furniture Today:

The store has grown a lot since the two stores it started with in 1953. Now Bennett’s In McComb has 16 buildings, all of them furniture showrooms, split into all the different types of furnishing you would ever need to turn your house into your home. The store is over 94,000 square feet, displaying bedroom furniture, dining room furniture, living room, bedding, art, motion furniture, accessories, and more.
